| Rule #1 - Web design is a one-of-a-kind process When developing websites, we always take into consideration the known patterns of end users’ “web behavior.” For example, most web users scan through a given text vs. actually reading it. Overloading a website with large amount of visual graphics can lead to low visibility of the website in web search engines. Moreover, some web design methods can affect a particular web page in the way that the search engine indexing becomes almost impossible. All of these details and many more have to be accounted for when working on website development. Rule #2 - Website is not for my company, but for my clients Good web design is based on the interests and requirements of the end users (aka clients). Developing a website strictly based on the requirements/vision of the actual requestor can lead to less than desirable results – specifically to a website, marketing and informational functions of which will be completely dysfunctional (no pun intended). There are a lot of useless websites like these in the world wide web. Rule #3 - Don’t make anybody think on what/where to click The web site users prefer not to think at all when visiting a web site as to what to click on to obtain particular information, such as pricing or a description of a particular service. When the web users are unable to figure out how to obtain the information needed, they simple move to another website. Therefore, effective web development is not only about visual effects and captivating information but also about website’s functional aspects – ease of use etc. Generally the success of a particular website resides on 3 cornerstones: visual effects, content and ease of use (usability). Our web design studio dedicates special attention to the website’s usability and user acceptance testing. Rule #4 - Page loading speed Given that almost everybody utilizes high-speed internet, it may seem that optimizing the speed at which the page is loaded is not critical to website’s success. However that is not necessary true – at this day and age many web users choose to access the Internet via various mobile devices: cellular phones, GPRS, Wi-Fi etc. That is the main reason why our web design studio dedicates significant amount of time to optimizing web site’s graphics and pages layout and usability, and web server software. Rule #5 - Ensure "Contact us" section is easy to find The rule above is related to the ease-of-use concept as well. When the end user (aka potential client) is interested in goods and services provided by one’s company and wants to get in touch, he/she should be able to locate Contact Us section with ease. There is a great risk of the end user leaving the website should this simple task present even a little bit of complexity. Therefore the contact information should be displayed on every page. That is exactly what our web design studio does when developing a website. And that certainly pays back! |
